EWING – When Jaclyn Douglas steps on the field at Lions Stadium, whether it be for practice or for a game, all she can think about is scoring goals and giving her best effort. Everything else that may be going on in her life is forgotten about. She just wants to go out there and dominate the competition.

Douglas continued that mindset on Tuesday when she netted two goals for the Lions giving her 11 goals on the year. It also gives her 94 career points.

“This season a personal goal of mine would be to reach 100 career points,” Douglas said. “It would be an amazing achievement for me. I have worked extremely hard to get where I am.”

Douglas has been a key player for the Lions her whole career here. As a freshman in 2013, she appeared in 20 games scoring three goals while having seven assists.

She would continue her success as a sophomore starting 24 games. In those games, she scored a total of 22 goals while having seven assists. Douglas was a key player for the Lions in 2014 as she helped them win the national championship.

Douglas, who is now in her junior year, is already off to an extremely impressive start. She has helped the Lions achieve ten straight victories and has played an important role in every single one of those games. She currently leads the team in points with 29 on the year.

It seems as if Douglas scores every single game. She is always right in the middle of the action waiting for her chance to make an electrifying play with the ball. Jaclyn can be seen hustling every single second of every game.

One hundred career points is an amazing achievement in the sport of field hockey. Every girl who accomplishes this milestone has worked hard during their career and has never once slacked off.

Douglas can already be considered one of the best field hockey players to ever play here. She is 12th on the list for most points in a season with 51. She is 10th on the list for most goals in a season with 22 and she is still climbing the list for most goals in a career.

She has already accomplished so much here, yet she has so much left to offer to this program. As she reaches 100 career points, it’ll just be another accomplishment to check off Douglas’ list.
